+Pros

  • Noise cancelling is close to flagship level: SoundGuys measured an 87.3% average reduction in perceived outside noise
  • IPX4 sweat and splash rating, rare for over-ear headphones
  • Twist-off ear and headband cushions that the headphones detect and retune for
  • Comfortable for long sessions and lighter than AirPods Max 2 (about 294g vs 384g)
  • Physical buttons instead of touch controls
  • 32-hour battery with ANC on, versus 20 hours on AirPods Max 2
  • Full feature support on both iPhone and Android

−Cons

  • SoundGuys and RecordingNOW heard a constant faint hiss, and CNET noted a faint noise with ANC
  • No wired listening at all: no USB-C audio and no 3.5mm input
  • No wear detection, so music keeps playing when you take them off
  • No user EQ, and the stock Performance Knit tuning reads as bright or lean to some reviewers
  • Buttons are untextured and hard to tell apart by touch
  • Folds flat but doesn't collapse, and ships with a soft pouch rather than a hard case

Why This Headphone

The Beats 360 went on sale in late September 2026 (Amazon lists it as first available on September 22) at $349. It is the first Beats over-ear with an official IPX4 sweat and water rating. Its headline feature is modularity: the ear cushions twist off, the headband cushion clips out, and sensors in the ear cups detect which cushion is attached so the headphones can adjust their sound and noise cancelling. The included Performance Knit cushions are a breathable woven fabric meant for workouts; the Ultra Plush memory-foam cushions are sold separately.

Who It's For

Reviewers agree it is built for people who want one pair of over-ears for both the gym and everyday listening, especially iPhone users who want Find My and one-tap pairing without paying for AirPods Max 2, and Android users, who get the Beats app with full controls. It is a poor fit if you need wired or lossless listening for editing, want to adjust EQ, or are sensitive to background hiss in quiet rooms.
